Anxiety Therapy in Roseville, CA

Anxiety is more than just feeling stressed or nervous. When anxiety starts controlling your decisions — keeping you awake at 3 AM, making you avoid social situations, sitting in your chest like a weight you can’t shake — it’s a sign that your nervous system needs support, not just willpower.

At Advantage Mental Health, our therapists specialize in treating anxiety using evidence-based methods that actually work. We’ve helped people move from constant overwhelm to feeling grounded, capable, and in control of their lives again.

What Anxiety Can Look Like

Anxiety shows up differently for everyone. Some of the most common experiences our clients describe include racing thoughts that are hard to slow down, a constant sense of dread or “waiting for the other shoe to drop,” physical symptoms like a pounding heart, chest tightness, shortness of breath, or stomach problems, difficulty concentrating or making decisions, avoiding situations or places that trigger worry, trouble sleeping or waking up in the middle of the night, irritability or feeling on edge all the time, and panic attacks that feel like you’re losing control.

If any of this sounds familiar, know that anxiety is one of the most treatable mental health conditions — and that relief is closer than you think.

How We Treat Anxiety

Our primary approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), the gold standard for anxiety treatment. CBT helps you understand the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors — and gives you concrete tools to interrupt the anxiety cycle. You’ll learn to recognize catastrophic thinking patterns, challenge anxious predictions with evidence, build tolerance for uncertainty, develop grounding and calming techniques you can use anywhere, and gradually face avoided situations at your own pace.

Depending on your specific needs, we may also incorporate mindfulness-based techniques, somatic (body-based) awareness, breathing and relaxation strategies, and exposure work for phobias or social anxiety. Treatment is always tailored to you. We don’t use a cookie-cutter approach.

Types of Anxiety We Treat

Our therapists have training and experience with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), social anxiety, panic disorder and panic attacks, health anxiety, performance anxiety, phobias, and anxiety related to trauma or PTSD. We work with teens, young adults, adults, and couples where anxiety is affecting the relationship.

What to Expect

Your first session is a conversation, not a test. We’ll ask about what you’re experiencing, when it started, and what you’ve already tried. From there, we’ll create a treatment plan together — a clear, goal-oriented roadmap for your therapy.

Most clients start noticing shifts within the first few sessions. We typically meet weekly, and the length of treatment depends on the severity of symptoms and your personal goals. Some clients find significant relief in 8–12 sessions; others choose to continue longer for deeper work.

We accept Partnership HealthPlan of California (Carelon Behavioral Health), Anthem Blue Cross Medi-Cal, and private pay with sliding scale. Therapy through Medi-Cal has no copay and no out-of-pocket cost to you. Ready to get started? Call us at 916-238-8015 or visit advantagementalhealth.org to schedule your first appointment. We’re currently accepting new clients and can typically see you within a few days.
